kitchen Banquette

The project brief was to create a minimal integrated kitchen banquette; however, the caveat was that the object needed to be pre-fabricated due to official occupancy not yet being granted for a new construction on the Central Coast. In this light, the structural material needed to be steel. The frame was fabricated with the interior void serving an open storage space that would be accessed via hinged components. Due to various design constraints of this project, the solution was to orient the hinged panels in a vertical fashion to optimize the functionality and method of plywood construction atop the steel frame.
